I fell in love with this book as soon as I read the excerpt on the back of it. I became so involved in the book that i read it just a few hours! Dokey's use of detail effectively brought the story to life.I fell in love with charactors and thier world as if i were tking part in the action. It had me cheering for Kit and Bold Will till the end. When i had finnished the book, I immediately had to get my hads on the sequel, "Charlotte:Heart of Hope". Once again Dokey delivers a heartwarming novel of adventure and love. This irresitable spirit is again successfully reflected in "Stephanie:Heart of Gold" and "Carrie:Heart of Courage", the final two books of the series. After finishing the entire series for the third time, I began to wonder. What would the next generations of Kelly women be like? What adventure will they embark on next? And ultimately, what keepsake would they tuck away into the fine hope chest, telling of thier legacy.

"Katherine: Heart of Freedom" is one of the best books I have ever read. It is the only one in the series I've read so far, but I'm going to get the others as soon as I can! I'm not going to write anything about "Katherine" - except to say that it's great- because if I do, I know I'll spoil the ending! I recomend this book to anyone! Happy reading!!

This is definately one of my most favorite books. I first read it when I was 12-years-old when my sister and I took turns reading aloud one quiet summer day. Kathrine is a spunky, intelligent and funny herorine who captures your heart from the very beginning. A young girl who longs for adventure and who has incredible courage. I fell in love with 'Bold Will' and the rest of the endearing charactures from the start. It's one of those books that sucks you in from the first page to the last and leaves you feeling happy, satified, a sad to see it end!

I have read this so many times and I am sure that I will continue to read it many more times. This book inspired me to try to write my own stories and helped kindle my dream to be an author someday. So thanks, Cameron Dokey, for giving us such a great book!

I've alread read it once and now twice, hi-liting for more emphasis. I run a very successful graphic design business, and consider this book a #1 resource. I recommend it to everyone in the design and freelance field. From starting out with minimal resources to planning the future and long-term success. Excellent strategies in pricing, sales, and working with clients. . .good and bad!

I am not even half-way through this book and I already realize it is one of the best books I've bought in the last five years! As a web designer looking to start my own business I am just devouring the pages which are full of wisdom based on experience.

This would be a great resource for anybody who owns their own business, wants to start a business, or wants to start freelancing. It also applies across disciplines: graphic design, illustration, writing, photography, web design, multimedia, etc.

I bought this book shortly after I started out on my own in '99 doing web site development, working from my apartment. Over the last several years I grew my biz out of my apartment, moved to an office space, hired a full-time employee, hired an intern, and switched from a sole proprietorship to an S-Corporation. Cameron Foote's book is a resource I have turned to again and again and continue to use to work through the short- and long-term scenarios of owning and operating a small business. It's simply a terrific resource. If you have questions about anything from profitability to creating estimates to dealing with difficult clients to health insurance -- buy this book. If you are looking for nuts-and-bolts info on running a small business, I don't think you can go wrong with this purchase...

My sister had this book, and I am so upset that she cannot locate it. I have phrases that are stuck in my mind, like: "What's all the clatter?" said the platter. "Teapot fell," said the dinner bell. "Pick her up," said the cup. "I can't," said the ant. "Please try," said the pie. "You must," said the crust. "Don't be dumb," said the crumb. It is very imaginative, and I wish I could read it to my children.

You know I was sitting here going though a book order form from my daughters school and I remembered when I used to get them when I was in kinergarten. Which got me to thinking of my favorite book, I always checked out when my mom would take me to the public library, "I Can't Said The Ant". I would sit there for hours reading the story and enjoying the rhyming all the way through... :) I wish I had boughten a copy of it when I was younger, and I am also sad to hear it is out of print, such a wonderful book for kids should be brought back to print. I know my children would love to hear the story everynight just as I liked to when I was a child, I know I would love to read the story everynight.

My mom read this book to me when I was a child. When I learned to read, I read it to her. Over time, the book became tattered (from excessive reading) and then lost. The last time I remember seeing my book was when I was 5 years old, (I will be 35 soon). Periodically, over 30 years I have searched for this book as it was my favorite. Both my mom and I, like many of the other reviewers, have used phrases from the book from time to time. For example: When she asked me to do something, I would jokingly say "I can't said the ant", to which she would reply "Please try said the pie". I am so very happy that I now have the opportunity to re-acquire this wonderful book.

Sonia Choquette's book, YOUR HEART'S DESIRE, describes nine simple principles we can use successfully to find and follow our heart's true desires. While each idea may appear to be obvious, most of us could use a few reminders on how to: (1) Bring the dream into focus, (2) Gain support of the subconscious mind, (3) Imagine the heart's desire, (4) Eliminate obstacles, (5) Receive Intuitive Guidance, (6) Support the dream with love, (7) Surrender control, (8) Claim the dream, and (9) Stay true to the dream.

Choquette knows that we create reality, and are better off when we don't spend a lot of time and energy contemplating what we're worried or upset about. She advises that our dreams come true more beautifully when we travel lightly, take responsibility for our dreams, and stop being control freaks. Choquette's many years of teaching workshops on this subject are evident in the enjoyable stories and excercises she includes in each section. She also includes a special meditation at the end of each chapter, so readers may better absorb the ideas.

I highly recommend this book for anyone seeking advice from a master of living life true to one's heart -- every page is a joy to read!

Upbeat and positive advice for an overly self-critical world. This book is excellent for getting you to find those priorities in your life you haven't let yourself take seriously. Her exercises will not only help you clarify your goals, they'll energize you to act on them. She uses client histories to illustrate how sometimes we think we want something (or someone!) when that is really the superficial cover for a more profound or significant desire. She also provides excellent commentary and a new spin on the maxim, "Be careful what you wish for, you will get it." Sonia Choquette's spirited and easy writing makes following her suggested exercises a joy, not a chore. I couldn't put this book down once I first picked it up.

So many "self help" books read like college texts. They rarely inspire you to actually do something (I've got a bookshelf full of them). Sonia Choquette has written a book from the heart to the heart. There's no dogma, psuedo-science, or trickery here. Anybody can use this book, you don't need a guru or have to know some secret. All you need is an open mind and a willing heart. The execises are practical and fun to do! You feel like progress is being made. This is a voyage of self discovery that can actually get you where you want to go!!!

Cameron has done something special for all FTMs. He has given us the hope and the realization that we can do it. We can look at those that went before us and know that we can become the person we are meant to be. This book is an inspiration, and it's so beautiful. I've looked at it so many times, and I never fail to feel the hope it brings to me.

This is a great, detailed look into the world of female to male transexuals, and the only book of its kind I have found.

I'm a minority. I am very much outside this book's intended audience, to say the least. I am a straight bio-male. And I can say without any homosexual tension, that Mr. Cameron you are built like a god.

The photos border on Arbus-esque but offer a more compassionate less spectacle treatment of the subjects. I guess that's a point well demontsrated when the phographer spends as much time in front of the camera as well as behind. You are more inclined to look at these unusual subjects with reverence not repulsion. The book overall is beautifully put toether. Sparse and poignantly so.

Now the "green with envy" part. Even if Cameron is 5'3", for me to stand next to him would be totally emasculating. There aren't a lot of "real" men out there who are willing to go out to the gym to look that ripped. I feel so flabby.

Yet when all of everyone's secrets come out, who will receive the love and trust of Anna? To find out, read this beautifully written book that will make you shout with joy and leave you in tears! Wouldn't this book make a great movie? I loved it and I hope you do!

The book Hindenburg 1937 is a well written emotionaly effecting love story that takes place during the tramatizing time of WW2. The book is about a young German girl who is living with her grandfather. He dies with his hands on a pair of ticketts to board the Hindenburg in his hands. She is sure that this means she is to board the Hindenburg and leave Germany for America but her brother won't have it. So she escapes and boards. A girl unescorted and looked for is not safe. So she simply walks up to someone and says "Hi, I've been looking all over for you". Luckly it works and everything is going well until she sees her X-long time boyfriend on the ship who is now a nazie spy. And no matter how much he hurt her she still loves him. A love story, complicated mysterie, and more aries. I cannot even express how wonderfful this book is. WARNING: Be prepared to cry after I finished reading it I cried for and hour. MUST READ MUST READ

I loved this book. I just read it for the second time recently and I am surprised and amazed every time. If you like history mixed with romance you will love this book. It says so much in so few pages. The ending was a tear jerker once again and I found that I cried just as much the second time than I did the first. It is a great book and I would recommend anyone read it! It is a classic to me!

I don't know where to start. I am overwhelmed from reading the reviews. I am thrilled that so many others were as touched by the film as I was. I have seen the movie 11 times, and don't intend to stop--ever. I will be first in line when it comes time to pre-buy the movie. Yes, I have read the book. It is amazing. James Cameron certainly has a way with words. I didn't expect it to hit me so hard, but the first paragraph on the inside cover brought me to tears. Looking at the pictures is like watching the movie again. And by now I know the words.. :-) There has never been a movie like Titanic. Everything about it is awe-inspiring, and the fact that this really happened is what got me so into it. I have become quite the Titanic historian since the release of this film, and it seems like the more I discover, the more I want to go back to the theaters. I am happy even when the movie is sold out because that means it is accomplishing what James Cameron set out to do. It is touching the lives of millions of people and opening their eyes to one of the greatest tragedies of all time. I get choked up every time I try to write how I feel about this movie and book, and everything surrounding them, and so I will just say that never before have I been so fascinated and broken-hearted at the same time. I hope that Titanic continues in it's huge success, and you can all bet that I'll be doing my part to keep it going strong. James Cameron has done every person interested in Titanic the Movie, a huge favor. This book gives you some idea of the massive undertaking that is this Movie. I have been interested in Titanic since I was 10 years old. I know a lot about the Titanic, but James Cameron has brought life to the passengers and crew of the doomed liner. Note in the one scene where Cameron has Jack "lift" a coat from a deck chair, while a small boy plays with a toy top, and his father looks on. This scene was taken from real life, as a photo was taken of this actual scene by a passenger who departed at either Queenstown, Ireland or Cherbourg, France. Cameron duplicated every item. Some are only seen for a fraction of a second, as witness the racks of china falling over as the ship begins it's final plunge. That china is absolutely correct and Cameron had it duplicated from the original maker. The boat davits were made by the makers of the original. Quality tells, and this book tells more... Cameron used the love story to tell the tragic story of hundreds of lives entertwined and ultimately, lost that fateful night 86 years ago April 14-15. It is a MUST READ.

After seeing the movie, I knew I had to learn more about James Cameron and the making of this perfect story. I have been so moved by the film. I feel this way not only because of the tradgedy itself but by the outstanding performances, the breathtaking music, and fantastic effects. I felt like I was on the Titanic, feeling their panic and their love. It was truly an unforgetable experience. This book opened my eyes to the unbelievable amount of time and energy that everyone involved put forth. I would like to thank them all for giving the world another chance to relive this story.

I actually got this as a joke, since I'm taking a road trip this summer. I started reading it, and I couldn't put it down! It's a very quick read, hilarious, and actually offers some practical road-trip advice (like how to pee on the side of the road, or how to cook nachos on your motor). It also gives tips on fixing your car and finding cheap places to stay.
Whether you're planning on traveling alone or with friends, or even if you're not actually planning a road trip but might someday in the future, get this book, read it, and then use the pages for T.P. along the way, as the auther suggests. It is definitely something I will be taking with me, and although I probably won't have random wild sex with hitchhikers along the way, (hello, some is meant to be funny-- not serious), I might just make up an alias to use in places I stop, "jog the dog," or try to talk my way out of a speeding ticket, using the tips described.
This book is fun, fast and entertaining, and now I'm more excited than ever to get on that open road!

Before I bought this book I had only made bread once. It turned out well so I was motivated to try out more recipes. I pretty much got this book because it was one of the biggest books I could find. I find the recipes easy to understand and many have had great results. So far I have only baked one bread recipe that I would not make again. For the most part I have been able to find everything needed for these recipes. My husband and I especially like the marbled bread in the vegetable section. Even though I am far from an expert in the kitchen I have found this book very enjoyable and usefull.

I recently told someone I bake all our bread from scratch--no bread machine for me. He looked at me in amazement and asked, "Then how do you do it?!" "Just the way your grandmother did," I told him. Of all the bread baking books I have (and I have a lot) this is the one I actually *use* the most. I have made more than 30 of the recipes, and they consistently come out very well. The book covers a huge variety of breads, from the so-called quickbreads that can be assembled in a matter of minutes to complicated ones that may take a week or more from preparation to final result. There are classic French breads, wholemeal breads, small breads-chances are, if you want to make it, it's in here.The instructions are very clear, even if there are no illustrations or photographs. After many failed attempts, I was able to make perfect croissants for the first time from this book! Finally, the book if presented with a great sense of humor-you'll love reading the recipe for dog biscuits, even if you don't have a dog.

I wrote the above review in 1997 - it's now 2003, and this book is still the break baking book I use the most. I've now moved to a country (Switzerland) where it's possible to buy great bread from any bakery, even from the supermarket. Yet I still turn to this book at least once a week for old favorites. Some that I have made more times than I can remember include scones (from mixing to eating in 30 minutes!), Old Milwaukee Rye Bread, Basic White Bread, Rosemary-Garlic Bread..the list goes on. Some I've yet to master after numerous tries - like the salt-raising breads. And I still haven't tried the dog biscuits. :)
